How To Spend 10 Days in Italy
Italy is one of my favorite countries I’ve ever visited. Maybe it was the incredible food, or the riviera views or even the old cobblestone streets that made me fall in love with this place.
If Italy is on your bucket list, (and it should be) make sure to take time to plan out your trip and pick out the top spots you want to see!
Here is how I spent my 10 days in Italy.
Days 1-3 Cinque Terre
Soak in the coastal views at Cinque Terre.
I spent the first few days of my trip exploring the 5 towns in Cinque Terre. There is so much to do here, you can relax on the beach, take a kayak ride, or hike nearby.Â
I had the most fun hiking the Blue Trail that connects all 5 towns, so I was able to see amazing coastal views and explore each colorful town. If you have the chance, I highly recommend catching the sunset at Manarola!

Day 4 Pisa
You can’t visit Italy without seeing one of its most famous icons – The Leaning Tower of Pisa!
Only an hour and a half train ride away, is Pisa, a city with so much more to see than just the Leaning Tower. I enjoyed roaming the streets, trying new foods, and shopping. It is the perfect day trip stop on the way to Florence.
Pisa is a smaller city, and easy to get around by foot. I was able to walk from the train station to the leaning tower, no other transportation needed!
Days 5-7 Florence
Famous for its incredible renaissance architecture and cultural heritage, Florence is definitely a bucket list destination in Italy.
Although it felt like I could spend months here, I only had three days to explore this old city. My breath was taken away at the top of the Duomo, where I could see endless 360 views of the city.Â
Take some time to learn about the history of the architecture and other art around the city. There are many museums to visit to learn about the Italian history, the most famous being Accademia Gallery of Florence, home of the David statue.

Days 8-9 Venice
Hop on a gondola and explore the canals on Venice Italy, my favorite place I’ve visited in Italy so far!
Explore the city of canals and centuries old renaissance and gothic palaces. Built entirely on water, there  are no cars in Venice, the main forms of transportation being on foot or boat.
Be sure to catch the sunset from the Ponte di Rialto, see St. Mark’s Basilica, and take a gondola tour if you’re up for it.Â
Tip: If you’re looking for the best place to get Gelato, go to Suso! It was some of the best dessert I’ve ever had, and it looks beautiful as well!
Day 10 BUrano
End your Italy adventure in the colorful streets of Burano, an easy day trip ferry ride from Venice!
I had seen photos of Burano on Pinterest before, thinking they were edited to be so vibrant. It turns out, this town really is as quaint and colorful as it seemed on the internet. Each house and shop had different colored walls and shutters, decorated with flower pots.
It’s a small area, but absolutely a beautiful place to walk through and have a nice lunch along the canals. At the end of the day, take the ferry back to Venice, and before you know it, it’s time to head to the airport to start your journey home.
Italy is a country full of color, life, and history. I feel like I could spend a lifetime seeing everything there is to see, and learning about the centuries of Italian history. Realistically, we only have a few days to take in the beauty of each city, so hopefully this itinerary helps you get started on making your dream Italy vacation come true.
